After reading each experiment, write an academic essay incorporating the following questions into your response; remember to properly cite when taking information from the text.

Introduction

  • Background information - why was this study conducted?

  • State the hypothesis of the research

Participants

  • Explain how these results are generalizable OR not

Method

  • Identify the research method used  - experiment, case study, correlational study, meta-analysis, naturalistic observation

  • Procedures of research - make sure to include as much information as possible so we understand what was done in the research process

    • Then…choose something in the research to operationally define OR explain what could have been operationally defined to make this research replicable

Results and Discussion

  • What did the researcher find?

  • How do these results help us understand human behavior?

  • Explain whether the researcher used qualitative OR quantitative methods and how do you know?

  • How do the results support or refute the hypothesis?  Use specifics from the results to support.

  • What is a claim you could make about human behavior based on this research?

    • Support this claim with evidence from the text and from our AP Psychology notes.

  • Explain at least one ethical guideline applied by the researcher.
